Windows Longhorn is the tag of the operating system which was the inheritor of Windows XP. At first the developers at Microsoft scheduled to release Longhorn as a minor release with just some improvements and features but later noticing that Longhorn is ahead popularity then it was decided that it should be a major release. The project backfired at initial stages and the stakeholders categorical to roll it back and release it as Windows Vista.
Windows Longhorn which was later called as Vista has become lots of new features which has improved the security and constancy the Operating System. It has become a brand new Graphical User Interface GUI which is called as Windows AERO (Authentic, Energetic, Reflective and Open). AERO has been intended aesthetically delightful and fair associated to the older versions of Windows. A wide selection of organization, navigation and search capabilities are obtainable in Windows Shell. In this operating system a new panel named as Beloved links have been added which has enabled one click access to communal directories.
